Equestrian Club
Carousel Farm is proud to provide a safe, encouraging and educational equestrian club. We strive to teach the safety of horses - on and off the horse and also the importance of sportsmanship. As we embark on a brand-new adventure, we hope you love – here are some important details:
When: August 2024 – March 2025
August 6th, 9:00am-3:00pm Starter Day Camp (this will allow riders to get to know the horses and start learning about the horse, grooming and riding). Lunch will be included!
September 3rd – Riding lessons will begin. Each lesson will be 30 minutes. (Lessons will be held every Tuesday of the month. Lesson times will be assigned at a later date, but will be held after school). We will follow school scheduling with holiday weeks. If by chance school is closed due to inclement weather, lessons will be cancelled.
September 5th – Our first education/curriculum class. Classes will be held every first Thursday of the month. Class will allow children to learn horse anatomy, proper care (farrier/veterinarian services/dental services) and so much more! Class will be 1.5-2 hours long, depending on the number of participants.
At the end of the year (March 2025) Carousel Farm will offer an end of season/awards party. Parents and facility staff will be invited to show off all the skills the children have learned through time with us.
Cost: Two options available
Option 1: $120.00 per month. This will include lessons for the month and curriculum class.
Option 2: $245.00 per month. This will include lessons for the month, curriculum class and participation at 4 Winter Tournament Horse Shows. The shows will be held at the Virgina Horse Center and transportation will be provided by the parents. Winter Tournaments are held on Saturdays and date to these will be posted once they are released.
Payment is due every first Tuesday of the month.
Uniforms: All riders will be required to purchase riding jods, boots, helmets and gloves. We will provide a list of where to purchase the items from. If riders will be participating in the Winter Tournaments, they will be required to purchase a team jacket as well. Riders not participating will still be able to purchase a jacket to wear. Average cost:
Riding Helmet: $85.00
Gloves: $40.00
Freedman Jods: $99.00-$129.00 (depending on adult or child sizing)
Riding Boots: $50.00-$150.00 (depending on the style your child likes best)
Jacket: $150.00
A Krispy Kreme Doughnut fundraiser will be held to help offset the cost of the uniform.
Signup Deadline: August 2nd, 2024.
