Our Story
Founded in 1984 and newly established in 2024 by the leadership at Johnston Chapel Baptist Church, Summit Christian Academy emerges as a new entity and brand for the middle and high school formerly known as Mercer Christian Academy.
It is our goal to provide an academically excellent educational experience that’s built on the foundational principles of Christian life established in the Bible.
Our mission is develop minds to learn, hearts to serve, and souls to cherish Christ.
Our experienced, faithful faculty and staff strive to ensure each student receives a quality academic experience that meets and exceeds the requirements set forth by the State of West Virginia. We also want to equip them with Biblical knowledge that will help them succeed in living Christ-centered, productive lives. Our students will have the tools they need to excel academically and spiritually.
Summit Christian Academy is a private, Christian school serving 5th —12th grades and is a ministry of Johnston Chapel Baptist Church in Princeton, WV.
We offer clubs and extra-curricular opportunities such as praise band, student council, choir, art, robotics, and equestrian. We also compete in the WVCAT and WVCEA conference tournaments and against WVSSAC schools with our sports teams. We offer soccer, volleyball, cross-country, golf, cheerleading, basketball, baseball, and track.
